Terra e Mare To Host Irene’s Diner Pop-Up Throughout Summer

Terra e Mare in Chicago’s South Loop will host a pop-up of Irene’s Diner to help raise funds for the reconstruction of the North Center diner which has been closed indefinitely since suffering a fire on May 30. The Irene's pop-up at Terra will begin on June 26 and will continue through the remainder of the summer. Co-partner and Chef Noah Zamler and his team will offer diners breakfast, lunch and dinner from Irene’s comfort food menu, as well as familiar favorites from Terra.

On top of hosting the Irene’s pop-up at Terra, Chef Zamler and his partners Cristian Mendoza and Petros Papatheofanis will host stands at various farmer’s markets throughout Chicago this summer. Fans of the diner will be able to grab handmade hot sauces, jams and preserves and freshly made sourdough breads at Lowline Market, Roscoe Village and the North Center markets. Funds raised will be used for the diner’s reconstruction efforts.

The Publican’s "Shuck-Off For Charity" Benefiting Pilot Light

Chef Paul Kahan and the Publican gang are once again gearing up for their annual charity Shuck Off on Wednesday, 2/21! 

For the third consecutive year, this celebrity chef-studded event will take over the iconic Fulton Market beer hall in support of nonprofit Pilot Light, with $2-a-shuck oysters courtesy of Island Creek Oysters, plenty of boozy drinks (including an exclusive cocktail from guest bartender Sam Perrie of Milk Room!), and a massive eight-foot oyster boat center stage in the dining room. Throughout the evening, look out for guest appearances by acclaimed culinary names Mindy Segal, Joe Frillman, Leigh Omilinsky, Kaleena Bliss, Jonathan Zaragoza, Sarah Stegner & the Chicago Chefs Cook team as they each roll up their sleeves and get to shucking alongside Paul for an hour at a time.

With a history dating back to 1879, Inglenook has played a pivotal role in shaping Napa Valley’s prestigious winemaking culture. On February 20 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Executive Chef Austin Adler and Head Sommelier Mike Loveisky of Maple & Ash are welcoming Todd DeVincenzi of Inglenook Winery to present a luxurious four-course dinner that offers a taste of the winery's rich legacy. To set the tone for the evening, guests can enjoy glasses of 2021 Inglenook Sauvignon Blanc and passed appetizers like fresh oysters and gougères with caviar. For the main courses, look forward to unique Inglenook wine pairings with dishes like Maple’s signature Fire-Roasted Seafood Towers and Foie Gras Tart made with fig, black olive, and licorice. Chicago’s event, which will be at Bloom Plant Based Kitchen, will be an intimate gathering with a multi-course menu created by TasteTwenty host chef Rodolfo Cuadros of Bloom Plant Based Kitchen in Chicago, IL and TasteTwenty guest chef Jennifer Dobbertin of Best Quality Daughter in San Antonio, TX. The menu will reflect their signature styles and highlight the uniqueness of their restaurants and communities. The dinner will also include beverage pairings for each course.

Chefsgiving: Chicago Chefs Band Together to Raise Funds for Pilsen Food Pantry in Charity Dinner Presented by Venteux + Pendry Chicago

As new migrants seeking asylum continue to arrive in Chicago, the city’s chef community has banded together to offer much needed support. Pendry Chicago and Venteux, the French brasserie on the hotel’s ground floor, have partnered with humanitarian effort-focused organization Chicago Chefs Cook to present Chicago Chefsgiving on Thursday November 9th. The chef-driven fundraising dinner at Venteux benefits Pilsen Food Pantry’s “New Migrant Program”, a dedicated effort to provide food, clothing, healthcare resources, and more to the city’s newest arrivals. The five-course feast will feature seasonal fare by several of the city’s buzziest chefs!

Tickets are $150, inclusive of a $30 donation to Pilsen Food Pantry, gratuity, and Moët wine pairings. Tickets can be purchased here.

American Cancer Society's Taste of Hope Event

Taste of Hope brings award-winning chefs and Chicago foodies together to celebrate the American Cancer Society's progress in the fight against cancer. ​

Taste of Hope has always featured wonderful Chicagoland restaurants and this year is no different. Now in its tenth year, the event is hosted annually by the American Cancer Society’s Taste of Hope Executive Leadership Committee and has raised over $3,600,000 to support the American Cancer Society’s mission and goal of eliminating cancer as a major health problem.
