via Roots

There really aint’ no party like a patio party and we are here to soak in every last minute of summertime Chi! So if you are one of those people who refuses to be inside during these limited summer months, this is the list for you. From rooftops to patios to beaches, here are some spots that’ll have you forgetting Chicago even has a winter…

Roots Pizza {Multiple Locations}

We’ve all heard of “Chicago style pizza” but have you ever tried “Quad Cities style pizza”? Roots Handmade Pizza pays homage to their Midwest “roots” with authentic, from-scratch Quad City-style pizzas, a Midwest-only beer list, homemade sodas + desserts and (most importantly) sprawling outdoor spaces. Their West Town location features a homey, sidewalk patio while their South Loop spot boasts a gorgeous rooftop atrium with a fully retractable roof.

Castaways Beach Club {1603 Lake Shore Drive, Chicago; 773.281.1200}

A Chicago summer staple with a brand new upgrade, Castaways is the place to be during the warmer months. With knockout views of both the lakefront and city skyline along with an abundance of outdoor spaces, including dining decks, patios and cabanas, you may just stay here until winter. The newly reimagined menu consists of global beach fare + an extensive cocktail list, providing the ultimate beachside retreat this summer.

via Cabana Club

Cabana Club {1616 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago; 872.315.3083}

Pool party, but make it on a hotel rooftop. Situated on the 6th floor of Wicker Park’s Robey Hotel, the Cabana Club channels the sun soaked beach clubs of the Italian coast with fresh Mediterranean-inspired food + drink. Enjoy the intimate rooftop pool complimentary if you are a guest. Non-guests can still get in on the pool fun for a nominal fee of $20 which includes towel service, soft serve, a welcome glass of Prosecco and highspeed Wifi. Want to be outside, but don’t feel like getting your feet wet, stop by the Cabana Club restaurant and bar surrounding the pool which is open from May-September and offers unparalleled views of the city skyline. Frozen Piña Coladas anyone?

Hampton Social {Multiple Locations}

A restaurant with the slogan “Rosé All Day” is just begging for a patio party. Between the nautical, beachy atmosphere and seafood focused menu, The Hampton Social makes it hard to believe you’re still in the Midwest. Both of their downtownChicago locations boast outdoor dining options; a rooftop in Streeterville and street-level patio in River North. And, if you are in the burbs head to the South Barrington location to enjoy an expansive outdoor patio. Time to get your rosé on!

Federales {Multiple Locations}

If your type of outdoor party includes a little bit of athleticism & whole lot of fun, head over to Federales’s industrial style patio in both the West Loop and Logan Square. Start the day with strong margs and tasty tacos and end it by trying to hit Federales’s legendary bell with an ice shot glass (IYKYK)! Oh and did we mention they offer a weekend brunch AND a Mon-Thursday happy hour?

Paradise Park {1913 West North Avenue, Chicago; 773.687.9117}

Find your instagram-worthy paradise in Wicker Park’s Paradise Park! With bright & funky decor, disco balls and umbrella laden cocktails, the whole experience feels like one big photo-op. Groove along to bumping music while feasting on specialty pizzas and cheersing vibey drinks with the crew. And if the massive street level patio isn’t enough, head upstairs to their exclusive Sunshine Dream rooftop where a more limited food + drink menu is also available.
