What to Eat, Drink, See and Do this June in Chicago
Summertime, and the living is - or should be - easy. June has finally come to Chicago, and the hardest decision you should have to make is what fun you want to have this month đ So weâre making it simple (as we said it should be)! There is a LOT going on across the city, but here are the not-to-miss sips, sights and scrumptious meals you should take advantage of ASAP.
Yes, there are LOTS of patios in Chicago, which can make it tough to choose your favorite. But we canât talk about Tanta enough. Itâs right in the heart of the city so itâs easy to get to whether youâre meeting for after-work drinks or a boozy weekend meal. Itâs intimate enough for a date night, but still works great for a group of friends. Their cocktails are colorful enough for your Instagram feed, but still pack that summer punch youâre looking for. We could go on - because we havenât gotten to the food yet! You just have to go and experience it for yourself.
CHI-TOWN SOUL Trolley Restaurant & History Tour
This trolley tour will take Chicagoans for a ride through the city, to both historical sites and Black-owned restaurants so as to showcase the heritage of the West Side. Restaurant stops include Schweet Cheesecake, Two Sisters Catering, and others, and the tour is run by Gone Again Travels, Chicagoâs first and only Black-owned travel agency storefront. Itâs a great way to explore new areas of the city and support Black-owned businesses in the process!
If you think youâve taken advantage of everything the Chicago food world has to offerâŚfriggen think again. Suite 202 is the only in-suite sushi bar in Chicago at Hotel Lincoln, and itâll give you a speakeasy vibe while the team there serves up a dining experience like no other. The main lounge seating area is set up just like a living room, with plenty of small side tables for drinks, and the six-seat sushi bar is tucked into the back of the suite for an intimate dinner perfect for a special date night or celebration.
Wine Wednesdays at The Signature Room
Chicago is a gorgeous city, but especially so in the summer. And you can take in all those pretty city views from 95 floors up at The Signature Room. On Wednesdays from 5-10PM, the restaurant will offer half-off select cellar wines to top your dinner off with the perfect sip. Reservations are strongly encouraged for the restaurant, so plan ahead to take advantage of this deal, however, they have something for the more impromptu visitor too! Every Wednesday from 3-10PM in The Signature Lounge, you can indulge in seafood and drink specials like $2 oysters, $2 jumbo shrimp, plus discounted Top View Brew and select rosĂŠ for walk-ins.
For those who are ready to reunite with all their favorite people, a group brunch is the perfect way to do so in summertime style! This brunch package from the team at NoMI Garden is made for a group of six people and includes a large seafood tower, a sushi platter, one entree per person and three bottles of sparkling wine with juices to accompany. Take in the sun and your favorite city while you dig in with your favorite people!
Cocktails at Parsonâs Chicken & Fish
What? Did you think we were only going to mention ONE patio? In June?! Youâre crazy! And youâd be crazy to miss out on the Parsonâs patios. Spread across town with multiple locations, itâs the perfect spot to pull up a chair and throw back some cold ones with friends. First-timers MUST try the Fried Chicken Sandwich and a slice of Bang Bang Pie, but everyone will love their summer cocktails. Our current favorite is the Game Changer, made with Deep Eddy Vodka and soda. Simple, and simply delicious!
Summer Fitness Series at Bar Siena
Our favorite kind of workout is one with mimosas at the end. Luckily, Bar Siena feels the same way! Theyâll have 45-minute fitness classes every Saturday & Sunday at 9AM and all the classes will be followed by a boozy brunch! Come for the sweat, stay for alllll the brunch goodness. Every class includes an entree like Avocado Toast or Breakfast Pizza, plus bottomless mimosas, coffee, and one of BomboBar's bomboloni doughnuts! Set your alarm clocks and weâll see you there đ
Finger Licking Foodie Deep Dish Pizza Tour
Walk around the city while you dig in to one of our most famous dishes on these self-guided tours meant for only the biggest pizza-lovers around đYouâll stop at Ginoâs East on Superior Street, Pizzeria Uno on Ohio Street, and Lou Malnatiâs on Wells Street over the course of a few hours and get VIP access so you wonât have to wait for all the cheesy goodness. If you have friends coming into town for the summer, or just REALLY love pizza, itâs a great way to spend an afternoon. Just save time for a food coma nap afterwards đ´
