Many mooncake-lovers will agree that there is no substitute for those created by The Peninsula brand in Hong Kong and this year, the highly sought-after mini egg custard mooncakes from The Peninsula Boutique are available to purchase online. The Mid-Autumn Festival will take place on Saturday, September 10.

The history of mooncakes at The Peninsula dates back to 1986 in Hong Kong, where Michelin-starred Spring Moon’s culinary team raised the bar on this storied confectionary, blending Eastern tradition with Western culinary techniques to create an utterly decadent treat. Since then, the mooncakes’ popularity and status has continued to rise.

Available for order and collection at The Peninsula Chicago, guests can purchase a box of eight individual egg custard mooncakes for $108 each, plus tax. Order online and pickup is available at the hotel starting August 8th until September 10th, 2022. Mooncake orders are non-refundable. Limited quantity available.
