W.F.A (Work from Anywhere)? More like W.F.A.A. (Work from Anywhere AWESOME)
Even though some companies are requiring workers to come back, that work from home life is now the norm for many people. And while we certainly understand the benefits of working from your couch (in your PJs), we also get that sometimes you need to leave the house. So, if you’re going to put on real clothes and enter the world outside, you might as well be heading somewhere awesome! So, we rounded up our favorite, awesome spots for a work remote day in Chicago…
Beatrix {Multiple Locations}
If you’re looking for a dependable spot to work from, Beatrix is your place. This local roaster and restaurant offers multiple locations that all remain consistent with the perfect cup of coffee, delicious pastries and space to be your most productive self. You’ll easily find a seat to make you feel right at home while encouraging you to get straight to work.
Starbucks Reserve® Roastery {646 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, 60611; 312-283-7100}
This Starbucks Reserve® Roastery is not for your average medium roast and you’ll never have to worry about getting a good seat. The Magnificent Mile is home to the largest Starbucks in the world with four floors, 35,000 square feet.
Each floor provides a different experience, from bakeries and traditional coffee to the Reserve® tasting space and even a rooftop overlooking the city. Grab your laptop and head here for a work from “home” day you won’t forget.
Goddess & Grocer Bucktown {1649 North Damen Avenue, Chicago, 60647; 773-686-4830}
Finding focus (or a place to sit) in any new space can be an adjustment, but not here. Working from The Goddess & Grocer Bucktown, you’ll find a buzz of people working around you. Add a wide range of healthy foods and spacious seating and you’ll be back to work here regularly. Our team worked from here recently and can personally recommend the spring Mango Chicken Salad Wrap as a great lunch that won’t leave you feeling sluggish for an afternoon of work.
Quartino {626 North State Street, Chicago, IL 60654; 312-698-5000}
Looking for an upbeat atmosphere to get you into the zone? Head to the bar area at Quartino! From the delicious, authentic Italian food, to the friendly staff surrounding you, you might find that this feels like your Italian home away from home. Working from Quartino feels like a hug from your favorite family member, thanks to home-made pizza for lunch. Does it get any better than that?
Edie’s All Day Cafe {Multiple Locations}
This colorful cafe says “all day” for a reason—you won’t want to leave. With indoor and outdoor spaces, plus fresh foods at your fingertips, working and living couldn’t be easier here. The menu of fresh foods will boost your mood and flavor-fy the 9-5 grind. Oh, and on Fridays… their happy hour menu is chock full of drink and food specials.
Hoxton Lobby / Cira Restaurant {200 North Green St Chicago, 60607; 312-761-1700}
A hotel lobby never looked so good. WiFi, table space and a stunning modern layout is just what we look for in the ideal work from anywhere spot. The Hoxton Lobby offers a co-working space that appeals to all, with cleanliness and familiarity like you live there, free of distractions and filled with creative energy.
Soho House Lobby {113-125 North Green Street, Chicago, 60607; 312-521-8000}
Lofty ceilings are said to boost creativity and at the Soho House lobby you will find JUST that. The delicious cafe offers every coffee and snack you could need while comfortably working from a West Loop hot spot.
For tea drinkers, this is an ideal place to order your favorite flavor and romanticize your work day with a teapot, English-style. Those creative juices will be flowing in no time!
