Halloween people take their holiday seriously. There’s no going halfway, and the Chicago food world is going all in this year. The whole city will be able to take advantage of seasonal excitement and over the top tricks, treats and festive feels on Halloween weekend (and even before). Don’t miss out on ghoulish-ly delicious specials and outdoor events. It’s time to get your costumes ready and stock up on candy and cocktails, because Halloween is about to take Chicago by storm…

Z Bar at The Peninsula Chicago {108 East Superior Street, Chicago; 312.337.2888}: Halloween starts early this year, with many parties taking place a day early on Saturday, October 30. Z Bar’s epic event is no exception! Join them for “Z is for Zombies — Superheroes” party. Because why be a plain ole’ zombie, when you can be a zombie superhero?! Create your best superhero-turned-zombie costume, attend the soirée, and enter to win a ghoulish prize. You can even get some help from their team who will provide on-site zombie face painting. There will be a live DJ and other festive fun too.

BLVD Steakhouse {817 West Lake Street, Chicago; 312.526.3116}: Spend your Halloween in disguise with the L'Élevage Masquerade at BLVD in the West Loop. It takes place on Saturday, October 23 which means if you’re a true Halloween-lover, you can also start your celebrations early with this event. Since it’s late night, there will be a DJ, as well as a trick-or-treat cocktail from Remy Martin. not to mention a special late night menu of BLVD bites, including one of Chicago’s best steak burgers.

Stan's Donuts {multiple locations}: Halloween isn’t just for kiddos to enjoy! The whole family can get in on the fun with a spooky-sweet Stan’s Donut from October 25-31. This includes the vanilla cake Lil’ Pumpkin donut with orange frosting topped with skull decor as well as the Monster donut, which has a chocolate creme filled bismarck. Perfect for a bit of a sugar rush before a day of trick-or-treating!

Untitled Supper Club {111 West Kinzie Street, Chicago; 312.880.1511}: Dance like it’s the “Howling 20’s!” at this River North hot spot at their party on Thursday, October 28! The evening will be vintage, Prohibition Era-inspired and feature sips from the largest selection of American whiskies in the world. There will be dancing and fun throughout their 3 performance rooms, making it the perfect kick-off to the holiday weekend.

Recess {838 West Kinzie Street, Chicago; 312.801.1181}: If you’re a fan of the Netflix hit “Army of the Dead,” you’re going to love Recess’ Halloween party! Their “Army of the Living Dead” event will be a one-night-only zombie party on Friday, October 29 with themed cocktails, food and a costume contest. You can even win a $500 prize! Order tickets now.

Little Goat Diner {820 West Randolph Street, Chicago; 312.888.3455}: The whole family can celebrate with a Kids Costume Party on Friday, October 29 at Little Goat! There will be pumpkin painting, arts and crafts, singing, dancing, yummy finger foods, spooky treats from Sugargoat and candy (of course). It’s the perfect way to spend a Friday!

Geneva Commons {602 Commons Drive, Geneva; 630.262.0044}: If you’re out in the burbs, head to Geneva for a Halloween Experience for All on Saturday, October 30. From 11AM-1PM there will be sensory-friendly and allergy-friendly activities for kids and parents to enjoy. Come in costume and participate in activities like a Classic Car Show presented by Greater Illinois Region of the Classic Car Club of America, pumpkin painting with Color Me Mine, a therapeutic Animal Experience with bunnies and goats provided by Happy Hooves Therapeutic Farms and author readings with local children's authors. It’s fun for the whole family!

Venteux Brasserie {224 Michigan Avenue, Chicago; 312.777.9003}: Make the most of the holiday with bubbly! On October 31, Venteux will host a special Halloween Brunch special from 10AM-3PM and all guests who come to dine in their costumes will be treated to complimentary bottomless mimosas and rosé with the purchase of any entree. You can’t say “no” to that!
