Cozy Cozy Cocktails for Chilly Chilly Chicago Nights

Funkenhausen

Cold cold Chicago needs some cozy cozy cocktails to help us all get through these next few weeks. But you know what? If you don’t love our city in the winter months, you don’t deserve it in June! (At least, that’s what we say 😉). So to make this chilly season a little bit more bearable, we have the warm cocktails that are worth heading out into the world to sip on. Stay cozy everyone - We’ll get through this together!

Funkenhausen {1709 West Chicago Avenue, Chicago; 312.929.4727}

You probably already know Funkenhausen for their extensive and unique wine and beer program, especially from German-speaking regions, but they also have a warm cocktail perfect for the winter months! The "Honey It's Cold Outside" is served hot and made with brandy, barenjager, dampfwerk, honey and lemon, which pairs so well with theor menu of rich comfort foods.

Bar Siena {832 West Randolph Street, Chicago; 312.492.7775}

This West Loop spot is bringing the HEAT for the winter! They have both a Forester Toddy as well as the Classic Hot Toddy, but our favoriteis the “Tia’s Remedy” made with Bacardi spice, butterscotch liqueur, and winter spice. Order this on your next date night, and you’ll be set with a delicious evening. Their sister restaurant, Siena Tavern in River North, also has warm cocktails including the “No Malacchio” with pear-infused Monkey Shoulder, St. George Spiced Pear, dreamsicle cream, and coffee.

The Press Room {1134 West Washington Boulevard, Chicago; 331.240.1914}

Winter is the perfect time to check out Chicago’s speakeasies, and The Press Room is waiting for you! This season, you can sip on their housemade Hot Cider while listening to live music or enjoying date night or pick-up their Gluhwein instead after ordering on Tock. Or, get the best of both worlds by ordering a Gluhwein for pick-up… but then staying for a few drinks when you come to grab your cocktails 😉

The Dearborn

The Dearborn {145 North Dearborn Street, Chicago; 312.384.1242}

Don’t forget about the Loop! There are still so many amazing restaurants that need your support in this neighborhood, and The Dearborn is one of them. Whether your’re heading to a play or one of the nearby museums, make sure to stop in for their rich Boozy Hot Chocolate or the Gluhwein with mulled red wine, brandy, ruby port, lemon, orange, allspice, cinnamon, clove, star anise, golden raisins, and dried apricots.

Starbucks Reserve Roastery Chicago {646 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago; 312.283.7100}

The sweetness of pistachio and rum, plus the buttery flavors of specialty coffee and Disaronno Originale Amaretto make the Roastery’s Pistachio Buttered Rum cocktail perfect for these chilly winter days. It’s only available seasonally, so don’t miss the opportunity to try a cocktail truly made for Chicago! Pair it with their Pistachio Mortadella Sandwich on olive sfilatino for an amazing weekday meal.

Bandit {841 West Randolph Street, Chicago; 312.666.6061}

West Loop bars really know how to keep it hot in the food world. Yes even when it feels like -2 degrees outside! Bandit has a classic Mulled Wine alongside their special “Bad & Boozy Hot Chocolate.” Made with Stoli Vanilla, Godiva Dark Chocolate liquor and toasted marshmallow, you will certainly feel like a badass, and taste the boozey! Bring your pals and have a fun winter’s night out

The Smith {400 North Clark Street, Chicago; 312.312.5100}

Come for The Smith’s epic Mac n’ Cheese, but stay for winter cocktails like the Hot Toddy and the Spiked Hot Chocolate. The Spiked Hot Chocolate is especially delicious, made with bourbon, hazelnut, chocolate liqueur and coconut, then topped with whipped cream. But we really love doing a warm cocktail trio and adding their Hot Apple Cider to the mix! You can have enough coziness right now!
