Can you feel it? Summer is almost here! And that calls for a celebration, don’t you think?! Our favorite celebrations include a cocktail or two, and summer is the perfect season for margaritas. We found our new favorite version of the famous drink in the “Money Shaker Margarita #2” from Broken Shaker at Freehand Chicago {19 East Ohio Street, Chicago; 312.940.3699}. It’s a refreshing drink, at a party-worthy bar perfect for for summer parties with pals ☀️Plus, it’s made with Tromba Blanco Tequila, which makes its flavor oh so smooth. You’re going to need more than one of these babies 😉

Money Shaker Margarita #2

Ingredients (for one cocktail):

  • 1.5oz Tromba Blanco Tequila

  • 0.5oz rosé

  • 0.25oz Fino Sherry

  • 0.75oz Lime Acid Solution

  • 0.75oz Agave-Gomme Syrup

  • 3 Dashes Regan’s Orange Bittera

Garnish: Hawaiian Black Salt Rim and lime slice

Method:

Start by creating your Agave-Gomme Syrup! Blend pure agave nectar and gomme syrup to create a silky texture. Gomme is a traditional substitute for simple syrup using an emulsifier known as gum arabic, a natural gum made from the sap of two types of the acacia tree.

Then, make the Lime Acid Solution. This will be an equal mixture of citric acid and water. Citric acid is found in limes, lemons, oranges and other citrus fruits, so its flavor balances the cocktail with acidity while allowing for better control over the texture.

Now you’re ready to make your cocktail! Garnish the glass with a Hawaiian Black Salt Rim (or your preferred salt). Hawaiian Black Salt is the best though, because it’s harvested from the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii, getting its color from the activated charcoal derived from coconut shells.

Next, mix the bitters, Lime Acid Solution and Agave-Gomme Syrup. Add the sherry and the Tromba Blanco Tequila before topping with the rosé. Add ice and stir until completely mixed. Strain from your mixing glass into the glass with your Hawaiian Black Salt Rim, which should also have ice in it. Top with a lime, sit back, and enjoy!
